AmnioShield® Amniotic Tissue Barrier

AmnioShield amniotic tissue barrier is a minimally manipulated amniotic tissue, sterile processed for homologous use in patients requiring wound covering and tissue protection from scarring.
Clinical History
Amniotic membrane tissue is essential for the development of the fetus during pregnancy and has been used in a clinical setting since the early 1900s. For more than a century numerous reports cite the use of this tissue to treat diabetic foot ulcers, infected wounds, non-healing wounds, and burns.
Amnioshield Advantages
- PurionSM Processing
AmnioShield utilizes the Purion disinfection process, a proprietary method specifically developed for amniotic tissue. Purion processing provides effective microbial reduction while being gentle enough to avoid compromising the delicate structure of amniotic membrane.1 - Safety
Over 30,000 Purion-processed amniotic membranes have been implanted to date with no adverse reactions reported.1 - Adhesion Tenacity and Scar Reduction
Barrier properties of amniotic tissue help to reduce scar tissue formation and scar attachment to the dura in in-vivo studies.2, 3 - Wound Healing
AmnioShield wound covering helps to facilitate wound healing.3
